Scarecrow Harvest
Scarecrows—sometimes skinny, sometimes ragged—are often employed to frighten crows and . . . gather folks to the Scarecrow Harvest for a fun filled autumn day of hayrides, music, face painting, storytelling, arts, crafts, and live music. Barbecue sandwiches and hot dogs will also be available as the scent of caramel apples fills the air in downtown Alpharetta.
All along Hwy 9 a colorful gathering of scarecrows created by local school children from 16 schools will dot the landscape of the city of Alpharetta for viewing by motorists traveling through town. Enjoy a gathering of family and seasonal celebration held in conjunction with Alpharetta’s Local Farmers Market.
Awards will be given for the Most Creative, Best Constructed, Best Personality, and SCHoolest of the colorful scarecrows created by Alpharetta’s schoolchildren for this festive display. The entire community is invited to share their own creations in front of local businesses and neighborhoods.
